What's Your Story?

Here we are at Camp Fuego and this has been a great week! Last night, the camp pastor, Kenny Dean, spoke on the question, "What's your story?" In other words, do you have a story about how you chose Jesus as your Lord and Savior? In church group time after the service, about 10 or our kids had the courage to share their stories with the rest of the group.
In light of this, I would like to take the time to share my story. I was 14 years old and was at church camp much like the one we are at this week. A little smaller and less elaborate, but essentially the same. On Wednesday evening of camp, the speaker spoke about the choice everyone has to make at some point in their life. Do you choose life or death, faith or unbelief, Jesus or yourself? For the first time in my life, I was confronted with that choice and I knew it was time to make the choice to follow Jesus because He loved me enough to die on the cross for my sins and forgive me. I found out soon enough that my life was different after that night.
My prayer for our students is that they would all have their story to tell when they chose Christ for their own. The only question then is, "What's your story?"
